Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse displays the denomination within a raised concentric circular border at center, inscribed TEN above the large numeral 10 and CENTS below. The legend BANK OF GUYANA arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin lettering. The date appears along the lower periphery. Two canje pheasants (Opisthocomus hoazin) are depicted in the lower field, one to the left and one to the right of the central circle, flanking the date. A beaded border runs along the inner edge of the rim.

Informazioni aggiuntive	Guyana's first independent coinage was authorized following the country's independence from Britain in 1966, with the Bank of Guyana issuing its inaugural series the following year. The 10-cent piece was part of that founding set, replacing the Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority issues that had previously circulated alongside British Guiana colonial coinage. The series ran largely unchanged for 25 years — an unusually long unmodified run, reflecting chronic budgetary constraints and limited domestic minting capacity. All pieces in this series were struck at the Royal Mint.
