Opmerkingen

Torrente de Cinca is a small municipality in the Bajo Cinca comarca of Aragon, and like hundreds of Spanish towns it resorted to locally issued paper fractional currency during the Civil War after the Republic's coins vanished from circulation almost immediately following July 1936. These municipal emissions were emergency instruments produced under genuine scarcity — not policy decisions handed down from Madrid or Barcelona, but local improvisations.

At this denomination, the note would have handled the smallest everyday transactions in a village of a few hundred people. Provincial emissions like this one frequently survive in tiny quantities simply because so few were printed to begin with.
