| 备注 |
Sigüenza fell to Nationalist forces in July 1936 after weeks of brutal fighting that left much of the town — including the cathedral — badly damaged. This note was issued the following year by the local rural savings cooperative, one of hundreds of Spanish towns and municipalities forced to produce their own small-denomination scrip during the Civil War after metallic coinage disappeared almost entirely from circulation. The Consejo de Ministros had authorized emergency local issues, but oversight was minimal and production quality varied wildly.
The Caja Rural de Sigüenza issues are among the less commonly encountered provincial scrip from Nationalist-held Castile.
