| Obverse description | Circular orange cardboard token with black printed text arranged in two horizontal lines across the field. The legend reads DISTRIBUCIÓ RACIONAMENT SABADELL, referring to the wartime rationing distribution system of the municipality. Two thin horizontal rules are printed above and below the inscription, framing the text within the plain field. The overall design is utilitarian, reflecting the emergency issue context of the Spanish Civil War period. |

| Additional information |
Sabadell, a textile manufacturing hub north of Barcelona, issued emergency cardboard currency during the Spanish Civil War when metal coinage vanished almost entirely from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply unavailable as the Republican zone's supply chains collapsed after 1936. Hundreds of Catalan municipalities printed or stamped their own scrip, and Sabadell was among the more prolific issuers.
Cardboard pieces of this diameter suffered heavily in circulation; survivors in clean, uncreased condition are genuinely scarce.
