| Opmerkingen |
El Puerto de Santa María, a sherry-producing port town in Cádiz province, was one of hundreds of Spanish municipalities forced to print emergency small-denomination scrip during the Civil War after Republican authorities withdrew metallic coinage from circulation in 1936. The Ayuntamiento's solution — heavy card stock printed locally by Gráficas Andaluzas — was purely functional, intended to fill the gap left by vanished copper and bronze coins.
The Gari Mon reference distinguishes this as variety A of catalogue number 1195A, suggesting at least one additional variant exists for this denomination from the same issuer.
