附加信息

The Provisional Government came to power after the Glorious Revolution of September 1868 expelled Isabella II, leaving Spain without a monarch and its coinage in administrative limbo. Pattern issues from 1870 represent the committee-driven scramble to establish a decimal currency system under the new regime — the same reform effort that would produce the peseta as Spain's official unit later that year.

KM#Pn12 is one of several copper patterns evaluated before production specifications were finalized. That it never advanced to circulation is itself informative: the Provisional Government's monetary planners ultimately favored different weight and module standards for the fractional coinage.
