Obverse description Printed on pale blue-grey card stock, the obverse carries a simple letterpress oval border enclosing the municipal inscription and denomination value in bold red ink. The text is arranged in three tiers within the oval: the municipality name arching along the upper curve, the numeral and unit centred, and the town name along the lower curve. The overall design is stark and utilitarian, consistent with wartime emergency issue practice.

Reverse description The reverse, on the same pale blue-grey card stock, bears a faint blind-stamped oval impression and a handwritten serial number in black ink, with a handwritten annotation in the upper right corner. The oval impression mirrors the format of the obverse border but carries no printed text, serving as a control mark. No other printed design elements are present.

Òdena is a small municipality in Anoia comarca, inland Catalonia, with a population that barely reached a few hundred during the 1930s. Like hundreds of similarly tiny Catalan and Spanish Republican municipalities, the Ajuntament issued its own fractional emergency currency — moneda local — during the Civil War, when coin metal was requisitioned and small change simply ceased to circulate. The Generalitat de Catalunya nominally oversaw these emissions, but in practice local councils printed what they needed, in whatever format they could manage.

The Turró catalogue remains the authoritative reference for these municipally issued pieces. At 38 × 30 mm, this falls among the smallest formats in the entire series.
