The effigy is rendered in fine relief with elegant neoclassical styling engraved by Luis Marchionni y Hombrón. The peripheral legend encircles the bust reading ISABEL 2ª POR LA G. DE DIOS Y LA CONST, with the engraver's initials L.M. incorporated into the legend. The date 1868 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by dots, within a finely toothed border.
