| Obverse description | Central field depicts a scenic view of the old harbour of La Rochelle, featuring the medieval Tour Saint-Nicolas and Tour de la Chaîne flanking the harbour entrance, with a sailing vessel rendered in low relief between the towers. The circular legend reads SOCIÉTÉ DU COMMERCE along the upper arc and LA ROCHELLE along the lower arc, separated by raised dot stops. The date 1922 appears in the lower central field beneath the harbour scene. |
