Monaco's 10-centime denomination had effectively no economic purpose through most of its production run — French franc inflation had rendered centimes nearly meaningless by the 1970s, yet the Monnaie de Paris continued striking them for Rainier III through 1995, largely to satisfy collector demand and treaty obligations under Monaco's monetary agreement with France. Circulation was minimal at best.
