| 正面描述 | At center, a central circular hole is surrounded by the royal cipher of King Leopold II. The legend KONINKRIJK BELGIË, rendered in Dutch, encircles the design, with two five-pointed stars serving as separators. The date appears below the central cipher, flanked by raised dots. The inscription and monogram are executed in a clean, incuse-bordered style characteristic of Belgian coinage of the period. |

Belgium maintained separate French- and Dutch-language coin series throughout the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a bureaucratic reflection of the country's deepening linguistic divisions. The Dutch-text 10 centimes of this period were struck at the Brussels mint, identifiable by the angel head privy mark. The "large date" designation distinguishes this variety from a contemporaneous small date die — a difference meaningful enough to collectors that the two are catalogued separately, though the mintage split between them is not precisely documented.
