The Imperial coat of arms of Haiti occupies the central field, consisting of a horizontally lined shield charged with a palm tree and crossed cannons, supported on either side by a rampant lion. The shield is surmounted by an imperial crown. Below the arms, a decorative ornament featuring a crowned cross divides the denomination 10 C. at left from the date 1855 at right, each flanked by a six-pointed star. The arc legend LIBERTÉ INDEPENDANCE runs along the upper periphery, separated from the border by a continuous beaded inner circle. |
