Reverse description Seated allegorical figure of the Republic, depicted facing left and slightly turned, holding a fasces and accompanied by symbolic attributes representing civic virtues. The denomination 10c appears in large raised numerals to the lower right of the field. The Republican motto LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ is inscribed in three segments arcing around the upper periphery. The composition is richly detailed in the Art Nouveau manner, with flowing drapery and naturalistic decorative elements filling the field. The overall design closely follows Dupuis's celebrated type adopted for the standard issue 10 centimes coinage.
