| 背面描述 | Seated allegorical figure of the Republic, facing front, enthroned between two flanking olive or laurel branches, holding a fasces in her left hand; the denomination 10C appears prominently to the lower right of the figure. The republican motto LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE is inscribed in three segments curving around the upper periphery. The date 1914 is placed in the exergue below the central figure. The composition reflects Dupuis's classically inspired yet Art Nouveau treatment of republican iconography. |

This is an épreuve — a presentation striking, not a circulation issue — produced at the Paris Mint as an official trial or archival piece. The Daniel-Dupuis 10 centimes type had been in regular bronze production since 1898, making a gold épreuve dated 1914 almost certainly a late institutional strike rather than a piece with any commercial intent. Jean-Baptiste Daniel-Dupuis died in 1899, so by 1914 his design had outlived him by fifteen years.
The GEM 34.16 reference places this firmly in the épreuves en or category — pieces struck for record, presentation, or official deposit, surviving in tiny numbers almost by definition.
