Reverse description The denomination 10 C dominates the central field in large raised numerals and abbreviation, flanked to the left by the abbreviation BP (Bon Pour) and a small mint mark triangle below. The date 1922 appears in the upper portion of the field, with 1933 placed symmetrically in the lower portion, indicating the validity period of the token. The circular legend COMITE REGIONAL TOULOUSE arcs across the upper border, while DEPT HTE GNE curves along the lower border, all lettering in raised Latin capitals on a flat field.

Additional information

Issued by the Comité Régional de Toulouse during the postwar token coinage boom that swept provincial France in the early 1920s, when the chronic small-change shortage — itself a product of wartime metal hoarding and currency disruption — pushed regional chambers of commerce and local committees to strike their own emergency issues. The Toulouse series circulated across the Haute-Garonne department as functional substitutes for state coinage that simply wasn't reaching the provinces in sufficient quantity.
