| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the municipal arms of Castres: the upper half divided into quarters of fleurs-de-lis and ermine, the lower half bearing diagonal barry wavy lines, all surmounted by a five-pointed star. The shield is flanked by two laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, and a scrolled banner above bears the civic motto DEBOVT. The design is rendered in low relief against a plain field. |
