| 背面描述 | The Haitian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a royal palm tree surmounted by a Phrygian cap of liberty, flanked by symmetrically arranged trophy elements including cannons, cannonballs, anchors, and flags. A scroll in the lower portion of the arms bears the national motto 'L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE'. The circular legend 'LIBERTÉ · EGALITÉ · FRATERNITÉ ·' arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination numeral '10' appears prominently at the base of the design, flanked by raised dots. |

Haiti's 1953 coinage arrived during the presidency of Paul Magloire, whose government used a modernization program — and the international goodwill following Haiti's bicentennial celebrations in 1954 — to justify a complete reissue of the circulating series. The nickel brass alloy chosen here was a deliberate departure from the earlier copper-nickel pieces, driven partly by postwar metal economics and partly by the influence of the Philadelphia Mint, which had long handled Haitian coin production under contract.
