10 Centésimos Pattern

Uruguay's 1976 military government commissioned a series of pattern coins as part of a broader currency reform exercise that ultimately produced the Nuevo Peso system introduced that same year. Most circulating issues from this reform were struck in base metals; silver patterns like this one were produced for archival and presentation purposes, almost certainly in very small numbers, and were never submitted for formal adoption.
