| Obverse description | The Dominican Republic coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a cross, an open Bible, and flanking trophies of arms, supported by laurel and palm branches. A ribbon below the shield carries the national motto in three parts: DIOS to the left, PATRIA at center, and LIBERTAD to the right. The legend REPUBLICA DOMINICANA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 1891 is prominently placed in the lower exergue between two five-pointed stars. The entire design is framed by a bold beaded border. |

| Reverse description | The large numeral 10 is prominently displayed in the center of the field, enclosed within a wreath composed of an olive branch to the left and a palm frond to the right, tied at the base with a bow and punctuated by a small five-pointed star at the foot. The circular legend DIEZ CENTESIMOS DE FRANCO arcs around the upper portion of the coin, reading from lower left to lower right. The mint mark A, for the Monnaie de Paris, appears discreetly below the numeral within the wreath. The design is contained within a beaded border consistent with the obverse. |
