| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is entirely blank, with no design, legend, or ornamental elements struck onto the plain flat field. The surface shows the natural texture of the lead flan, with visible oxidation and surface irregularities consistent with an unstruck trial planchet. The octagonal outline of the flan is clearly defined by flat, angled facets. This uniface characteristic is typical of preliminary trial strikings used to test obverse die impressions before committing to a full production design. |

Trial strikes in lead were standard practice at European contract mints when testing die alignment and relief depth before committing to full production runs in the specified alloy. Bolivia's decimal coinage of this period was produced under contract at Km Heaton & Sons in Birmingham, and lead — being soft, cheap, and dimensionally stable under press — was the preferred proofing material. The finished 10 centavos type entered circulation that same year.
