| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Honduras occupies the central field, depicting an oval shield containing a landscape with three volcanoes rising above the sea, surmounted by a quetzal bird with outstretched wings and flanked by scrollwork and pine trees. The shield is encircled by the inner legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS LIBRE SOBERANA E INDEPENDIENTE and the date 15 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1821. The outer legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS arcs around the upper periphery, while the mint year appears in the lower field. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
