Beschrijving voorzijde Black intaglio on green underprint. At left, an oval vignette contains an allegorical portrait of Liberty in profile, wearing a star-adorned diadem with rays emanating behind her head. To the right, a large guilloche numeral '10' panel is set within an ornate frame, flanked by the bilingual bank title at top; the central text block carries the statutory legal tender declaration in Spanish, with two manuscript signature lines above the bold denomination cartouche reading 'DIEZ CENTAVOS DE CÓRDOBA', and a third signature at lower right above 'PRESIDENTE'. Repeated numeral '10' cornerpieces and the printer's imprint 'American Bank Note Co. New York' run along the lower border.

Beschrijving keerzijde Green intaglio on white paper. The central vignette presents the Nicaraguan coat of arms — an equilateral triangle enclosing five volcanic peaks rising from the sea beneath a rainbow and a Liberty cap — rendered in fine line engraving. Flanking the central arms are two large mirror-image guilloche rosettes each bearing the numeral '10', set within an elaborate engine-turned border. The bank title appears bilingually at the top, with denomination text in a rectangular panel at the foot and the printer's imprint below.

Opmerkingen

The Banco Nacional de Nicaragua was itself an unusual institution — incorporated in the United States under Connecticut law in 1912, with the U.S. government holding a controlling interest as part of the broader financial supervision that followed the Knox-Castrillo Convention. This note is therefore less a product of Nicaraguan sovereignty than of American receivership: a Central American denomination printed in New York for a bank whose majority shareholder was Washington.

The twelve-year date range for Pick 52 reflects multiple print orders from ABNC rather than a single issue, and distinguishing them requires close attention to serial prefix blocks and minor plate differences.
