| 背面描述 | Two cornucopias, abundantly filled with fruits and grain, are displayed in saltire at the center of the field, their mouths facing downward and outward. The denomination 10 CENT is inscribed in two lines within the space formed between the crossed horns of plenty. The circular legend, reading GRAM. 2,500 along the upper left and LEI 0,835 along the upper right, records the coin's weight and silver fineness respectively. The mint name BOGOTA appears in the lower field, and the whole design is contained within a beaded border. |

Colombia's federal period under the Rionegro Constitution of 1863 left monetary policy fragmented across nine sovereign states, each theoretically capable of issuing its own currency. The 1872 monetary law attempted to reassert centralized minting authority, and this denomination was among those produced under that framework at Bogotá — though Medellín and Popayán struck examples as well, each carrying their own mint marks and exhibiting subtle die differences catalogued by Hernández across numbers 390 through 398.
The .835 fineness was adopted in direct alignment with the Latin Monetary Union standard, reflecting Colombia's ambitions toward regional monetary integration during this period.
