| Obverse description | Draped bust of Liberty facing left, her hair loosely flowing and bound with a ribbon inscribed LIBERTAD. The bust is centered in the field and surrounded by a border of nine six-pointed stars evenly distributed along the lower periphery. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS DE COLOMBIA runs along the upper portion of the rim, while the date 1874 appears prominently below the bust, flanked by stars. The design is engraved in a refined neoclassical style attributed to Leonard Charles Wyon. |
