| Obverse description | Printed in red-brown on an uncoloured ground, the obverse carries the Portuguese Coat of Arms within an ornate wreath vignette at left, alongside a large numeral '10' underprint, and an allegorical standing female figure at right holding a torch aloft. The denomination 'DEZ CENTAVOS' is set in bold lettering across the centre, with two decree references and their respective dates printed below. Two manuscript signatures appear at the foot, one for the Secretário Geral do Ministério and one Pela Administração da Casa da Moeda, with the printer's imprint 'WATERLOW & SONS LIMITED LONDRES' at the base. |
