| 背面描述 | The denomination numeral '10' is displayed prominently in large, bold relief at the center of the field, with the word CENTAVOS inscribed in a smaller legend directly below. The date of issue appears beneath CENTAVOS in the lower central field. The entire denomination device is encircled by a symmetrical laurel wreath, with the two branches meeting and crossing at the base, tied with a ribbon, imparting a classical heraldic character to the design. The arrangement is clean and well-balanced within the dodecagonal flan. |

Chile's aluminum coinage of this period emerged directly from the economic chaos following the 1973 coup, with the Pinochet government inheriting rampant inflation that made copper-based low denominations increasingly expensive to produce relative to their face value. The switch to aluminum was a straightforward cost-cutting measure, not a design initiative.
KM#205a replaced the copper-clad steel KM#205, which had itself only been introduced in 1971 under Allende.
