| Obverse description | The Guatemalan national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a resplendent quetzal bird perched atop a scroll inscribed 'LIBERTAD 15 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1821', flanked by two crossed rifles and two crossed swords, all encircled by laurel branches. The circumferential legend 'REPUBLICA DE GUATEMALA' arcs along the upper periphery. The silver fineness '0,720' and the date of issue appear in the lower field, separated by the wreath ties. The design is rendered in fine relief against a plain field, enclosed by a beaded inner border and a reeded edge. |
