| 备注 |
The Banco de la Província de Buenos Ayres occupied an unusual position in Argentine monetary history — it operated as a quasi-central bank for the province long before any national banking framework existed, issuing its own currency at a time when Buenos Aires and the Argentine Confederation were still working out their political and fiscal relationship following the 1853 constitution. This 10 Centésimos Fuertes note dates from well after that reunification, but provincial issue remained the norm.
The American Bank Note Company printed extensively for South American clients throughout the 1860s and 1870s, and the PS prefix in the Pick reference confirms provincial rather than national status — a distinction that mattered considerably in trade and exchange at the time.
