| 背面描述 | The denomination '10 ct' is prominently struck in large numerals at the center of the field, flanked and overlaid by outline maps of various former Dutch colonial territories, including depictions recognizable as New York (New Netherland), South Africa (Cape Colony), Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Suriname, the Dutch Antilles, and the East Indies. The curved legend 'Nederlandse Koloniën' (Dutch Colonies) arcs across the upper portion of the field in italic script. The date '2005' appears in the lower exergual area, completing the design. |

The Netherlands East Indies ceased to exist as a political entity in 1949, yet this 2005 brass piece bears its name — a detail that demands explanation. It is a fantasy essai, almost certainly produced by a private European mint for the collector trade rather than under any governmental or monetary authority mandate. The attribution to a defunct colonial administration with no issuing capacity fifty-six years after dissolution places this firmly outside orthodox numismatic legitimacy.
No such euro-denominated coinage was ever seriously proposed for the region.
