Surrounding the sunburst, the field is intricately engraved with a star map featuring comets, constellations, and celestial bodies rendered in fine detail against a textured antique ground. Eight circular medallions arranged in a ring around the central motif each bear a classical planetary or alchemical symbol, including those for Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, the Moon, Earth, Mercury, and Venus, among others.
