| Obverse description | Central square hole surrounded by four boldly cast Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in the traditional cross reading: top (裕), right (通), bottom (民), left (寶), reading top-bottom then right-left as 裕民通寶. The characters are set within a raised inner rim that borders the square perforation, with a broad flat field between the legend and the outer raised rim. The casting is robust with clear stroke definition typical of the Fujian fiefdom issues of Geng Jingzhong's era. |
