Obverse description At centre, four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a quadrant read top to bottom and right to left, denoting the imperial reign title. Manchu script characters appear above the central ideograms, identifying the reign year and minting authority. A ring of smaller Chinese ideograms encircles the central group, reading the denomination, mint of origin (Szechuan), and the issuing authority of the Great Qing Empire. The legends are crisp and set within a plain field, with no figurative devices on this face.
