| Beschrijving voorzijde | Round cast copper coin featuring a central square perforation surrounded by four large Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform fashion reading clockwise from top: 咸 (xian), 豐 (feng), 寶 (bao), 重 (zhong), together forming the reign title legend 咸豐重寶 (Xianfeng Zhongbao). The raised characters are bold and well-defined against a flat, unadorned field. A plain raised rim encircles the design. The overall surface exhibits an aged patina with areas of copper corrosion consistent with a buried or circulated specimen. |
