| Reverse description | The reverse displays a central square perforation flanked by four raised inscriptions in two scripts. The Chinese characters 當十 (dang shi, meaning 'worth ten') are arranged vertically above and below the central hole. To the left and right appear Manchu script characters reading 'Boo I' (寶伊), identifying the Ili Mint. The characters are large, boldly cast, and deeply raised against a flat field, enclosed by a plain outer rim. Surface patina and casting texture are consistent with contemporaneous Qing provincial mint production. |
