| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays two vertical Manchu script characters flanking the central square hole, reading right to left as 'Boo-su' (ᠪᠣᠣ ᠰᡠ), the Manchu rendering of the Suzhou Mint name. Above the hole, a single Chinese character 當 (Dang, meaning 'equivalent to') is cast in relief, and below the hole appears the Chinese numeral 十 (Shi, meaning 'ten'), together forming the denomination inscription 當十 (Dang Shi, 'equivalent to ten cash'). All four legends — two Manchu and two Chinese — are boldly cast in high relief, separated by the square perforation, and framed by the standard inner and outer raised rims characteristic of Qing dynasty cast coinage. |
