Reverse description The reverse displays a bilingual inscription arranged around the central square perforation in the standard Qing cash coin format. The Chinese character 當 (Dang, meaning 'equal to' or 'valued at') appears above the hole and 十 (Shi, meaning 'ten') below, together denoting the denomination of ten cash. To the left and right of the hole, two vertical Manchu script characters read ᠪᠣᠣ ᠰᠠᠨ (Boo-san), identifying the Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing. All characters are cast in raised relief within a plain inner square border, with a smooth outer rim.
