| Obverse description | Cast brass cash coin centred on a square central perforation, around which four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are disposed in the traditional reading order: top, bottom, right, left. The legend 咸豐重寶 (Xianfeng Zhongbao) identifies the Xianfeng reign period and designates the piece as a 'heavy currency' coin of elevated denomination. The characters are rendered in bold, slightly raised relief within a plain inner rim, with a wider raised outer rim encircling the flat field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays a square central perforation flanked on either side by Manchu script characters reading 'Boo-kiyan' (ᠪᠣᠣ ᡴᠶᠠᠨ᠋), the Manchu rendering of the Guizhou mint name, disposed vertically on the left and right of the hole respectively. Above the perforation appears the Chinese character 當 (Dang, meaning 'equivalent to') and below it 十 (Shi, meaning 'ten'), together expressing the denomination of 10 cash. The legends are cast in raised regular relief within plain inner and outer rims, consistent with standard Qing dynasty provincial cash coinage. |
