| Obverse description | Cast copper cash coin with a central square hole, surrounded by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion and read in the traditional sequence top-bottom-right-left. The reign title legend 咸豐通寶 (Xianfeng Tongbao) fills the four quadrants of the flat, undecorated field. The characters are rendered in bold relief with clean, well-defined strokes typical of Qing dynasty Xinjiang mint issues. The obverse is bounded by a plain raised rim with no additional decorative elements. |
