| Reverse description | Central motif consists of a raised circular medallion bearing the two-character inscription 銅元 (Copper Coin) in bold relief Chinese characters. The medallion is surrounded by a sunburst design of twelve outlined triangular rays radiating symmetrically to the coin's rim, a design characteristic of the Tongyuan type issued by the Kashgar Mint. The rays are rendered with incised outlines giving a distinctive two-dimensional geometric appearance. The field between the rays and the rim is plain and unadorned. |
