| Obverse description | Four Chinese characters arranged in a cruciform pattern reading top to bottom, right to left, surrounding a floral ornament at centre; the characters read 光 (top), 緒 (bottom), 寶 (right), 元 (left), forming the standard Guangxu Bao Yuan formula. The central group is encircled by a peripheral legend of Chinese characters identifying the issuing province. The coin is overstruck on a Korean 5 Fun piece, and traces of the host coin's legends are visible in the fields: the denomination in Korean (오푼) and English (5 FUN) at the lower periphery, with the country name 朝鮮 and regnal year 開國五百三年 also discernible. |

| Reverse description | A sinuous dragon depicted in high relief occupies the reverse field, shown in profile with scales, claws, and whiskers rendered in the standard late Qing imperial style, encircling a pearl or flaming jewel at the centre. The coin is overstruck on a Korean 5 Fun piece, and vestiges of the host coin's reverse design are visible beneath: a central denomination numeral flanked by a decorative wreath composed of Rose of Sharon to the left and plum blossoms to the right, surmounted by the Imperial Seal of Korea (plum blossom) above. The overstrike has partially obscured but not entirely eliminated the underlying Korean reverse type. |
