Obverse description Round cast bronze coin with a central square hole, bearing the four-character reign inscription 洪武通寶 (Hongwu Tongbao) arranged in the traditional reading order: top, bottom, right, left around the central perforation. The characters are rendered in regular script (kaishu) with bold, well-defined strokes set within a plain, flat field. An inner rim borders the square hole, and a raised outer rim frames the entire face. The overall style is consistent with early Ming dynasty imperial cash coinage.
