Reverse description Central field features a finely detailed five-clawed imperial dragon depicted in a coiling, confrontational posture amid stylized clouds and floral scrollwork, facing forward with a flaming pearl above its head. The dragon's scales, whiskers, and clawed feet are rendered with considerable relief and artisanal detail characteristic of the Tientsin mint's output. Above the dragon, along the inner upper arc, appear the Chinese characters 光緒年造 (Made in the Guangxu reign). The outer legend, separated from the central design by a dotted border, carries the romanized inscription TAI-CHING-TI-KUO COPPER COIN. in Latin script along the lower periphery. The milled rim encircles the entire design.
