The dragon is rendered with fine scale detail characteristic of the Hunan mint's distinctive style. A semi-circular legend in traditional Chinese regular script arcs above the dragon, reading the reign title and year of issue. Below the dragon, a horizontal English-language legend in Latin characters runs across the lower field.
