Obverse description At centre, four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a quadrant pattern reading top to bottom and right to left, with a decorative flower motif occupying the central field between them. Manchu script characters appear in two vertical columns above the central arrangement, flanking the design. A circular border of Chinese ideograms surrounds the entire composition, denoting the reign title, denomination, and mint of issue. The design is rendered in a crisp mechanical style typical of late Qing dynasty machine-struck coinage.
