| Obverse description | Cast copper cash coin with a central square hole. Four Chinese characters in kaishu (regular script) are arranged in cruciform fashion around the central perforation, reading top-to-bottom then right-to-left: 光 (Guāng) above, 緒 (Xù) to the right, 通 (Tōng) to the left, and 寶 (Bǎo) below, forming the reign legend 'Guāngxù Tōngbǎo' — meaning 'Current currency of the Guangxu reign.' The characters are bold and raised in relief against a flat field, with a plain outer rim encircling the design. |

| Reverse description | Cast reverse displays four elements arranged around the central square hole. A single Chinese character 十 (shí, meaning 'ten') appears above the aperture, and the character 喀 (kā, abbreviating Kashgar) appears below. To the right is an Old Uyghur word (كاشغر, 'Kashghar') and to the left a Manchu word (ᠪᠣᠣ, 'Boo', meaning 'mint'), together identifying the Kashgar mint and the denomination of 10 cash. The calligraphy is cast in raised relief with a plain rim, consistent with late Qing provincial cash coinage from Xinjiang. |
