Obverse description At centre, four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cross reading top to bottom and right to left, denoting the Guangxu Emperor's reign title. Two Manchu script characters appear above the central group, identifying the Ministry of Revenue as the minting authority. A circular border legend in Chinese ideograms surrounds the central motif, proclaiming the denomination as ten cash (wen) of Great Qing copper currency. A cyclical date element (午丙, corresponding to year 43 of the Guangxu reign, 1906) appears within the legend. The overall design is characteristic of late Qing provincial machine-struck coinage, with legends arranged in concentric registers across a flat field.
