The entire central motif is encircled by a border of additional Chinese ideograms denoting the issuing province, denomination, reign title, and monetary designation. The inscription collectively reads: Made in Hunan Province, Worth Ten, Guangxu (Emperor), Yuanbao (Original Currency), Boo-nan (Hunan Mint), Copper Currency.
