The flower privy mark distinguishing this variety likely served an internal accounting or batch-control function during a period when the mint was struggling to meet both local demand and central quotas simultaneously.
Y#77 encompasses several die marriages, with differences in the rosette, bead count, and legend spacing across the .1 through .5 subvarieties. Attributing this piece correctly depends almost entirely on those minute details.
