Reverse description A coiled five-clawed imperial dragon dominates the central field, shown in high relief with finely engraved scales and swirling cloud motifs surrounding its sinuous body. The dragon faces left with its head turned toward the viewer, clutching a flaming pearl beneath its chin. A beaded inner border separates the central dragon motif from the surrounding legend. The upper arc of the legend reads 'KIANG-NAN' and the lower arc reads 'TEN CASH' in raised Latin letters, with small rosette or floral ornaments serving as stops between the legend segments on certain varieties. The design is typical of late Qing provincial copper cash issues produced at the Nanking Arsenal mint.
