| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central square perforation surrounded by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform reading order: top to bottom and right to left, reading 大中通寶 (Da Zhong Tong Bao). The characters are boldly cast in raised relief within a plain, unadorned field, with no inner or outer rim decoration beyond the coin's slightly raised border. The calligraphic style is formal and well-executed, consistent with official coinage of the late Yuan–early Ming transitional period. |
